42 CFR Part 2 are the federal regulations governing the confidentiality of alcohol and drug abuse patient records. Part I of this course provides a brief introduction and history of 42 CFR Part 2. Part 2 of this course discusses some fundamental concepts and also describes the seven circumstances in which some or all of 42 CFR Part 2 does not apply. Part 3 of this course focuses on statutory sections dealing with the form of written consent; disclosures with consent; disclosures without consent; and re-disclosures. Finally, Part 4 of this course addresses frequently asked questions concerning 42 CFR Part 2.
